Providing remedial learning, educational materials, and digital literacy support to prevent school dropouts.
Education is the foundation of a life with dignity, opportunity, and hope. Yet, for children living in tea garden communities and remote forest-fringe villages, quality learning remains out of reach. Although most children are enrolled in government schools, many struggle to keep pace with their studies due to poverty, limited learning support at home, and the absence of academic guidance beyond the classroom. As a result, learning gaps widen, school attendance declines, and the risk of dropping out increases—particularly during the transition to secondary education.
Morichika Welfare Society is committed to breaking this cycle through its Education for Children Programme. Our Learning Centre in Nichebasa Village, Gulma Tea Garden provides a safe, inclusive, and nurturing space where children receive free academic support, homework assistance, remedial education, and examination preparation. Beyond academics, we promote holistic child development through creative learning, sports, life skills, digital literacy, and supplementary nutrition, helping children build confidence, curiosity, and resilience.
By strengthening foundational learning and creating opportunities for every child to thrive, we are not only improving educational outcomes but also empowering children to realize their rights, unlock their potential, and build a brighter future.
Our community-based Learning Centre provides free remedial education, homework support, foundational learning, and examination preparation for children from vulnerable tea garden families, helping them strengthen academic performance and remain in school.
We provide school bags, notebooks, stationery, learning materials, and other educational essentials to reduce financial barriers and ensure children are prepared to learn with confidence.
Recognising that good nutrition is essential for learning, we provide supplementary nutrition, including protein-rich snacks, eggs, and seasonal fruits - helping improve children's health, concentration, and overall well-being.
We nurture children's confidence and holistic development through life skills education, creative activities, reading, art, cultural programmes, and sports, fostering critical thinking, teamwork, leadership, and self-expression.
We work closely with parents, schools, and the community to create a safe and supportive environment that promotes children's rights, regular school attendance, protection from abuse, child labour, early marriage, and substance abuse, ensuring every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
Support children's education by mentoring students, assisting with learning activities and helping create brighter futures.
